Disadvantages and Advantages
A disadvantage to America in the Battle of the Atlanic were the German U-boats. U-boats were submarines that caused havoc in WWII during the battle. The "U" in U-boat stands for "unterseaboot" or under sea boat in english.
A disadvantage for Germany was that They did not have as many U-boats because they stopped production to build aircrafts. Another was location. Because of where the battle was, America and Britian has access and could take out the U-boats.
In the end, the battle was won by the allies. The Germans put a halt to U-boat operations in the Atlantic on May 23, 1943. 45 German submarines were destroyed in April and May. Germans built massive submarines and if they succeeded in building these super subs, they would have won.
An advantage to America was the British. Because of where the battle was, the west side of the Atlantic ocean was on America's side. The water near America and Britian was protected. However, the battle took place in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean because there was no protection.
